JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER
ANGELO NICHOLAS CREMONA
DOB: May 19, 2008 angelo is the eldest son of jeremy and marianna cremona, a semi-religious muggle couple. he has a younger brother named anthony, who is fifteen years old. jeremy and marianna met at a prestigious private catholic school, becoming close and fast friends when they were ten years old. they never dated while at school, but when they graduated, they went to the same university studying different courses - he as an accountant, she in biomedical science. as they grew up, their religious values became less strict, and they enjoyed going out together, although they never 'hooked up' or gotten drunk / smoke drugs etc. they dated for three years - the length of his accountancy course, and were married a month after his graduation. her studies were put on hold when she became pregnant three months later, and her graduation coincided with giving birth to angelo. it was a bit of a difficult pregnancy for marianna, but if you asked her, she'd do it all over again if it meant having the beautiful baby boy in her arms. angelo had an idyllic childhood, with a doting mother and father who gave him the best of what they had. they raised him with morals, ethics, and etiquette, and he was never the spoiled brat who threw tantrums. he was an engaging conversationalist from the get go, often telling stories of how his day went at preschool, forever asking questions - a vivacious and engaging child. four years later, his mother fell pregnant again. the happy family went to take a peak at the ultrasound, but the news was both good and bad. marianna had developed ovarian cancer, and all the symptoms that had presented itself over the years she'd pushed aside, too busy keeping up with her baby boy. she would have to have surgery, and chemotherapy after, but as her baby was only twenty weeks old, he wouldn't survive. she asked her survival rate - at her stage, she'd probably live another couple of years, depending on how well she responded to the treatment. marianna couldn't take it. she broke down, taking jeremy with her, and angelo was often left confused as to why his mother and father never laughed at his jokes anymore. in the end, marianna refused to terminate her pregnancy. she wanted her child: what were the chances that she'd get another? and she'd only get a handful more years - at least, if she had her child, she'd see him at least a little, see his first smile, hear his first word. she knew it was selfish of her, but if she was going to die in the end, anyway, she wanted to give the gift of her life to her unborn baby. she went into labour two weeks before the due date, and anthony was born screaming. his mother was whisked away straight after, so the doctors could attempt surgery on her. they were unsuccessful, and the joy of anthony's birthday was marred with his mother's death. jeremy tried his best not to blame his youngest son. he'd explained to angelo that his mother was so very very sick, and the doctors couldn't make her better. the young boy had taken the news stoically, blinking back tears because he was a man now and men don't cry, right daddy? angelo held his baby brother for the first time, and he understood that anthony was his mother's last gift to the world, and angelo wanted to make sure that she didn't die in vain. he swore to always look after anthony, and never let any harm fall on him, because he was the big brother, and that's what his mummy would have wanted. jeremy tried his best to be there, now that he had two sons and no wife to help look after them. he relocated closer to his younger brother's house, where he lived with his wife. he got a job with his brother john, often leaving the two boys in the care of his sister-in-law georgina. although nothing was perfect, at least they worked, and they trudged on that way for the next three years. horrifically, georgina was involved in a fatal car accident. a nine-year-old angelo let his drunk uncle into the house, and john was so far gone. to this day, he doesn't remember telling angelo, "never fall in love. because when they get taken away, it tears everything apart and it feels like your insides are being twisted and torn. remember that, angelo, never fall in love." but his words made their impact on the kid, especially when his father came home and found out, the two older men drinking to their sorrows until they passed out. slowly, both men began to lose their faith in god. angelo, however, kept his steadfast belief in a higher being, never losing the morals engrained into him since he was a kid. when angelo began to take on the caretaker role with his younger brother, he made sure anthony had the same upbringing he did. two years later, he got his letter to hogwarts. at first, he was wary of it, thinking that it was unnatural and abnormal and witchcraft that was against the principles of religion, work of the devil. the ministry official who'd been sent to help him showed him magic, but angelo remained unconvinced until he was given a tour in diagon alley, where he saw nothing particularly evil or devilish. there were no human sacrifices or devil worship or anything, and angelo slowly began to warm to the idea of being a wizard. his next fear was then telling his father. jeremy, though, couldn't care less about magic. over the years, the man became less and less controllable, dragged and eventually influenced by his younger brother's alcohol addiction. he never crossed the line where he'd hurt his kids, or have them taken away, but he hardly cared for them anymore, especially for anthony, who he began to blame for marianna's death. angelo feared leaving anthony with jeremy, and only attended the magic school on the condition that someone be stationed to look after anthony. someone who had magic, and who could control jeremy should the need arise. in part for angelo, and in part for concern for anthony, an elderly ministry official, on the cusp of retirement, was sent as a nanny for anthony. jeremy didn't care much, as long as he had his hands free to do whatever he wanted. angelo was sorted into gryffindor upon his arrival at hogwarts, and he picked up magic quite easily. he spent most of his time worrying about anthony, often begging the headmistress to let anthony visit him at hogwarts. he was never allowed, although he was sometimes given permission to visit anthony for the weekend. every christmas and easter break, though, he'd head home, and as the years passed, he saw less and less of his father on his holidays. in his fourth year, however, both his father and uncle died due to brawl fight that quickly turned fatal. the ministry set up the elderly ministry witch / nanny as anthony's guardian, as she'd gotten attached to him and he to her, and by declaring anthony as an orphan, the ministry witch became his adoptive mother. the next year had angelo on tenterhooks, afraid that anthony would not be invited to the magical school, and so he breathed a huge sigh of relief when two owls turned up in august, instead of the usual one. he could better keep an eye on anthony, and although he was endlessly thankful to the witch who looked after anthony, he wanted to be able to do it himself. teachers described angelo as a sweet kid, always polite and charming. he was quiet when you first got to know him, but once he was comfortable with you, he could be a complete chatterbox. he made his friends and his enemies, breezing through his studies with ease. he enjoyed his life within the boundaries of his morals and ethics (not necessarily of his church), but the one thing he never did was fall in love. to this day, angelo is deathly scared of falling in love, traumatised by what happened to both his father and uncle when their loved ones were 'taken away'. angelo's open to having girlfriends and dates, but never would he say he's wanting to fallen in love. he's had his heart set on becoming a hit wizard, and has been studying the required subjects with both enthusiasm and hard work. he doesn't fly too well, although he likes watching quidditch. he is intent on receiving custody of anthony once he graduates, and he's endlessly indebted to the ministry witch who looks after them during summers. he hasn't had any long-term girlfriends, not because he's afraid of commitment, but because he's afraid of getting too attached and falling in love, although commitment is part of love. that's one path he's okay to leave untried, at least for now. he's stuck in the middle: he doesn't want to fall in love now, afraid of the loved one being taken away, but at the same time, he doesn't want to fall in love too late, when there's not enough time.
