Karina was absolutely positive that she'd been given permission to stay over at Danni's house this Saturday night. She didn't usually need to ask permission to go over, because her mom already knew Danni's (Karina wasn't entirely sure how, but she had long before gotten used to that fact that Bass family somehow knew everybody). Besides, Danni and Karina had been having slumber parties for years now. But when she'd so kindly informed her mother of her future absence on Thursday night, her mother had told her that she'd have to see because there was some sort of gala happening at one of her friend's cousin's manor and since Karina was of age now, she was obligated to tag along. Of course, upon finding out, Karina had promptly written to Danni, informing her that she'd be there at the earliest possible on Saturday evening, so that they'd have quite a bit of time to spend together. She'd assumed that she'd be allowed to go since she almost always got what she wanted. But then Saturday morning had rolled around and her mother had left a brilliant, emerald color dress robe on Karina's closet door as a reminder of what she had to wear that night and she'd been shocked. She wasn't going to cancel on Danni. That was so rude! So, after an entire day of begging and pleading, she found herself in her room. The clock said it was almost five thirty in the evening, and she'd told Danni she'd be there at five forty-five at the latest. Her bag for the night was already packed, her more comfortable ensemble put on. Of course, with her love for fashionable clothes, it only meant a pair of designer jeans and a classy shirt instead of a dress. She'd packed an emergency set of evening wear in case they came up with a crazy idea to go out somewhere (it marveled her how often people thought she was impromptu and random when clearly she was well prepared for this kind of stuff).
A knock sounded on her door and she jumped up to open it, finding her mother on the other side, ready to leave for her pre-ball cocktail party (or something), and a familiar expression on her face. Karina knew that expression all too well. It was an expression of giving up trying to make her stubborn daughter understand. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mum," she squealed, throwing her arms around her mother in a quick hug, pressing a kiss to her cheekbone and then grabbing her bag before running down the stairs. Shouting a quick goodbye to everybody who was there in the house, she walked out of the house, till the border where the protection enchantment ended and then Apparated to the Oberlin household.
Smiling up at the familiar home, she hurriedly went to the door and knocked on it. It wasn't Danni who opened it, which made Karina feel a wee bit bad about making her mother open the door instead. "Hullo," she smiled at the woman she'd come to know over the years, who obviously seemed to be expecting her and informed her, smiling, that Danni was in her room. Navigating her way to Danni's and hoping she wouldn't run into Devyn (she didn't mind a challenging conversation now and then, but she didn't think the Slytherin girl would be pleased to see her now), she made her way to Danni's room, knocked once and them threw the door open.
"Your queen has arrived," she announced regally, dropping her bag at the foot of the bed and taking her seat upon it.
((ooc: i hope this is ok omg?!))
