It had been exactly a week and a half since she'd last seen her best friend, but to Vera it already felt like forever. She had to give it to destiny to make it so easy for her to stay in touch with Moira - with Brigid Finnigan being a door or so down from David, Vera's cousin, it was not that hard for her to run into Moira every time she went over to visit Skye, and incidentally even Rory. It was always a friendly reminder that even though she had graduated from school, she wasn't haven't such a tough time being off on her own; because she wasn't on her own. Whether it was Moira, or Rory, or Skye, or Brigid, or Jake, or David, or Kieran, or Rupert, or their extended families who dropped by, or her own siblings who made it a point to come over to her new apartment, she was always surrounded by people. In fact, if she didn't know any better, being outside of Hogwarts had made it easier to go and visit people.
But a week and a half was still an eternity when it came to seeing your best friend, and that is precisely why Vera had quickly written to Moira that morning and told her that she had an extended lunch break, and that if she could so kindly come down to Muggle London, then she could hang around with her for a couple of hours. She had no clue if Moira was bringing her son along or not, and she frankly did not mind either way. A spectacular time with the kid and his mother, or a girl's afternoon out, both sounded very enticing to her. Putting down her pencil - pencils and pens were something she was still getting used to, after having sketched for years using quills - and locking away her folder of designs, she waved a temporary goodbye to her fellow interns and made her way out of the large building.
She'd told Moira to meet her at one o clock, at this precise spot and just as she looked down at her watch to check the time, she spotted the familiar build of her best friend. "Moira!" she called through the crowd, waving to her through the crowd, motioning for her to come join her.
