she didn't want to be known just as a mclaggen daughter. there was a time when she and her younger brother used to gang up on their older sister and their father, but now, brianna is not on good terms with her family at all. things were shaken in her world when she was sixteen, and everything was turned upside down and nothing made sense anymore. she was shipped off by her father in a rage when he found out about her abortion – sent her halfway across the world to an all-girls wizarding school, salem witches institute in america. there, she was subjected to both magical and psychological therapy – the stress in her life had caused her magic usage to become weaker and harder to control. she became elusive and quiet, preferring to stay indoors with her own company than enjoy the weak winter sun with other girls. she became withdrawn, not wanting to talk to others. she didn't care if others said they understood her pain, understood what she was going through. no, they didn't, and no, she didn't care what they thought. she just wanted them to go away. studies became her refuge, her reason and excuse to not associate. textbooks became her shield against the memories, fighting her own problems the only way she had left. since then, her grades became her top priority, and she no longer cares for partying or loud music or snogging. she's determined to polish up her tarnished image, and she wants to make a respectable woman out of herself, not the one they all whisper about as the one who let her time in school ruin her entire life. she came back to hogwarts in her final year, and graduated with seven newts. however, she realised how much she couldn't stand living in the wizarding world, where it reminded her every waking moment of her mistakes, her past, and her hopeless future. so she decided to look for a job outside, in muggle london. she is currently searching for a job, and is taking up waitressing while she's searching for a more stable job. she moved out a month ago and is currently staying in a flat in muggle london with kaycee o'malley. the brightest points in her life at the moment are the days where she can babysit for mrs o'malley, kaycee's mother. six months ago, one of mrs o'malley's friends from hogwarts died in a car accident along with her husband, leaving their three children michelangelo (11), matteo (5), and margot (11 months) in the care of mrs o'malley. despite the situation regarding the circumstance, mrs o'malley is happy that her house is once again home to children, now that her youngest had moved out. however, she's now a bit older, and with her part-time job taken home, can hardly run after a five-year-old boy while at the same time keeping an eye on the crawling baby. she therefore enlisted the help of brianna, who had only been too happy to look after matteo after school and sometimes on the weekends. she loves taking matteo out, both to diagon alley (the only time she goes to magical london out of her own free will) and to muggle london. at first, the boy had been shy and reclusive, reeling from the sudden loss of his parents. brianna is willing to spend weeks and months, patient and ever-loving, to finally see the boy matteo used to be. his smiles and giggles are rare, and that's why she takes every opportunity to see him happy, watching him colouring his books, and reading him stories. matteo is like the son she never had, and she loves him with all her life. she doesn't need more than what she has right now.
