DOMINIC HEATH FOSTER
Dominic Foster was born on March 23rd, 2001. Though his parents had married young, and been together for a while, his mother, Alanna Foster, hadn't revealed her magic to her husband. In fact, Alanna was a Muggleborn, and though she was proud of her abilities, she'd returned to her parents' world after Hogwarts in order to take over her family's failing business and had mostly stopped using magic before she met her husband. However, Dom had inherited his mum's abilities, and unlike Alanna, couldn't control it - one inexplicable event too many happening around their son led to Alanna finally explaining the truth to her husband. Though her husband tried hard to understand, he felt betrayed and lied to, and couldn't come to terms with being cut out of such a large part of his son's life. He and Alanna divorced when Dom was very young and went their separate ways. Alanna began to feel as though she'd made a terrible mistake by staying in the non magical world she'd grown up in. Alanna sold her business to a near cousin and instead began working in Flourish and Blott's, eventually becoming manager of their Diagon Alley store. Dom grew up with only his mum around the house, but because he spent a lot of time in the bookstore, never felt deprived of company. An avid bookworm from a young age, Dom read as much as he chattered to other people, quickly becoming quite the favourite in the store. Dom knew who his father is, but because his father felt so uncomfortable with Alanna and Dom's magic, Dom and his father never had a very strong relationship, or really much of a relationship at all. At eleven, Dominic began attending Hogwarts, and was Sorted into Ravenclaw. Though much less chatty than he'd been when he was younger, Dominic was still one of those Ravenclaws who was as comfortable with his nose out of a book as in. He cultivated a number of close friendships in his Hogwarts years, and as he grew older dated quite a few people as well. However, something equally exciting was happening at home - his mother had begun dating a Ministry employee with a young son of his own. They got married when Dom was fifteen, and by that time Dom had already grown fiercely attached to his young stepbrother, Caleb. Of course, Caleb was so charming and cheerful it was hard not to like him, but Dom was excited to have someone who looked up to him and who he could help look after. To this day, they are both very close and very protective of one another. That year brought a second surprise and Dom was named Prefect for his fifth year. He only took six OWLs, but got Os on all of them. While most of his year mates were pushing themselves to take as many OWLs as possible, Dom had always found pursuing knowledge more interesting than test taking. Dom took six NEWTs in his seventh year (and was named Head Boy, too) and applied to become a Hit Wizard. He'd originally planned to become an Auror but found the competitiveness and one upmanship of the trainees a little off putting. The Hit Wizards were much more comfortable to be around, and, Dom felt, doing much more good on a daily basis. At this point, Dom's been a Hit Wizard for five years. He's risen in the ranks a bit, and proven to be a solid person to have in the field, but he's started to feel a little stifled in his job. However, he feels like he would be letting down the people he helps if he changed careers. Dom's starting to feel a little restless, in general - though he's still very close with his family, he's starting to feel a little stuck in terms of where he is going with his life. Dom's been in a few long term relationships (most memorably, his relationship with his fellow Head during Seventh Year) but his dissatisfaction is starting to affect his ability to see other people, too, now. Dom may be doubtful about where he's going now, but he knows that something needs to change. ALIAS AGE ZONE |
