JENNIFER BELLA DE FIAMME
This is Jennifer de Fiamme. She has quite the story behind her. The first ten years of her life were complicated. Jenna was born in Milan, Italy and as Ginevra . Her father was Leonardo de Fiamme and her mother Gabriela de Notte. They were the first borns of two very different families, but two families involved in a magical sort of mafia. They were into the dark arts and trading of certain artifacts. They pretty much ruled Magical Northern Italy. Things were bad between the families and as a peace treaty, they offered up Gabi and Leo. The two though, were incredibly against it. Leo was a free spirit and wanted nothing to do with the family business, Gabi knew this and didn’t want to be stuck with such a man for the rest of her life. Gabi lived a certain lifestyle and it required Leo behaving. They lasted two years, and in the final year, Leo left Italy, much to his grandparents’ amusement, they were over the drama of their lives. He took Jenna with him. Leo left a letter saying he was in no position to take over. He was not fitted for the business and would like to pass it on to his youngest sister, someone he knew they would approve of. Everyone knew of Leo’s thoughts, he was never quiet about it and being tied by a vow, knew Leo would never mutter a word of such organization. Not many were hurt by it, other than Gabi. She on the other hand was furious. Leo took all his finances with him and their daughter. She spent a good year searching for them. Not for closure of need of her daughter, but for revenge. Eventually she gave up and married Leo’s brother. She was back into the family and back in the riches, it kept her happy. Leo took Jenna around Europe. He took her to visit many friends of his and travelled until his granddad gave him the okay of Gabi giving up. Once it was clear, Leo ended up moving in with his Squib aunt. She was more than happy to welcome her family into her humble and muggle British home. She wasn’t disowned but she knew she didn’t belong in their life, so Aunt Fae, took up residence in Britain thanks to Leo’s very understanding grandparents. Since no one came and visit or wrote, having Leo show up with Jenna gave her a lot to smile about. It led to a very muggle life for Jenna. Aunt Fae suggested a name change to help her integrate later in life, not to mention it would make it hard for Gabi to track them. He agreed and soon Ginevra became Jennifer and soon Jenna or Jen. At five, Fae settled her into a muggle school and taught Leo how to hide in the muggle world. But it didn’t last long, Leo ended up in the Ministry working with the Muggle Department. But Jenna stayed in the muggle lifestyle for quite awhile. No magic was to be used or spoke of. They wanted Jenna to be involved with every different aspect of their new lives. It lasted until she was ten. She was a bit of a late bloomer. No huge emotion brought it on. Jenna just got bored one day and was able to make her dolls dance with her. She didn’t have a whole lot of friends and letting her out to play was something Fae and Leo tried to avoid. She ended up making friends with invisible creatures and dolls she acquired through growing up. When he Hogwarts letter gave, her father was excited. She was a witch, a pureblood witch, and asked to attend one of the best European school. Fae was worried though. She knew nothing of magic and wasn’t sure if she would be connected to Leo’s past. But no matter how the other felt, Jenna said she was going with or without their help, she wanted to know this world. Leo helped her buy her school supplies and took Fae with them to the train, sending Jenna off for a new adventure. Jenna’s train ride was interesting. She was completely alone and everything amazed her and scared her, except one person, Leah. This was a girl who went straight up to her and said her eyebrows looked funny. Jenna took no offense, she just laughed and told Leah her hair looked funny. That little interaction led them to riding the train together and then the boats. The sorting ceremony was just like the train ride, exciting and terrifying. She spent nights reading Hogwarts, A History with her father, trying to learn everything she could. She wasn’t exactly sure where she belonged but knew the hat would tell her. Leah was sorted into Gryffindor and well, surprisingly enough, so was Jenna. It made her heart soar to be with someone she knew just a tad bit. Soon enough, Jenna proved how naïve she was. But Leah was a bit of the same way being muggleborn. Through their Hogwarts years, they were partners in crime and were always found together. Jenna and Leah were the closest of friends, but they still live their own lives. Jenna found a talent in Quidditch in her second year, she was perfect for the seeker position and took it as soon as she could get her hands on it. Jenna also got involved with her studies and wanted to learn as much as she could seeing as she didn’t have a lot of it growing up. There was no end to the curious nature of Jenna. She studied and studied and always found something else to look up. It also got her in a lot of trouble. Jenna had a reputation for sticking her nose in places they do not belong and then getting involved. She spoke out a lot and was always looking to help another person out. Her grades were incredible thanks to her constant need of knowledge and her quidditch skills continued to progress. But she didn’t want to do any of that as a career. Since she entered Hogwarts, Jenna found an obsession with photography and it’s magical properties. Her father bought her a camera and she learned how to do everything she need to shoot magical and muggle shots. She has boxes amoung boxes of photos moving and still, of her small family, of her friends, of school, of strangers and so on. It was her passion. Graduation came for Jenna. She was in the top ten students and headed straight into the Daily Prophet to take their pictures. They were impressed by her age compared to her work and hired quickly. Jenna ended up traveling with them all over the place recording the things of their world. It was an exciting life, but she missed her old simple life and came home. She came just in time for Henry’s birth. Auntie Jenna or Jay, decided to take more local projects for the newspaper and stuck around for her best friend and the life she was creating. Jenna didn’t have a lot of her own life, but she loved living in her Soul Sister’s life. Jenna would babysit while Leah went out for work or time with her husband. She was always there. Especially the night when the call happened. Jenna was working on some proofs while Henry played with his toys. The phone gave a few rings before Jenna picked it up. It took everything Jenna had to not break down then and there. She was the only child, Leah was her sister, Leah was dead. The young woman ended up calling Leah’s brother and family. It was an incredibly hard time and Jenna was there for every detail. She took off from work and wouldn’t leave Henry’s side for the longest time. Jenna was sad, scared, and lost without her friend. After things settled down, Jenna packed her things up and moved in with her father. By then her Great Aunt Fae was gone and left everything in their names. But it didn’t matter, Jenna usually stay over wherever Henry was or even took his with her at some points when Reese and his flatmates agreed. Henry has become Jenna’s life now, her photography being put aside for a while. You can either find Jenna usually be found with Henry, if not with him, then proofing her projects with liquor in her hands and tears threatening her eyes. Alone she is barely hanging on, but around Henry and other’s she puts on the strongest façade she could create. make love, not horcruxes. KRISTI TWENTY PACIFIC |
