PIPPA BRYONY TREMLETT
FATHER: Donaghan Tremlett, 50, muggle-born, lead bassist in The Weird Sisters. A very good father to his children. He supports them emotionally and financially. Married his wife in 1995. In 1997, their first child (the only boy) was born. However, in 1998, Donaghan was forced to go into hiding since he was a muggle-born. He fled to New Zealand and sent his wife and newborn to Europe. It was a difficult time for their marriage, but they managed to survive and work through it. MOTHER: Clementine Tremlett (nee Ravensdale), 50, halfblood, manager for The Weird Sisters. She’s also a very good mother who loves to spoil her children the best she can. SIBLINGS: 1) Euan Tremlett, brother 2) Kenzie Tremlett, sister 3) Nicola Tremlett, sister OTHER IMPORTANT FAMILY: Tremlett grandparents Ravensdale grandparents Georgina Davies (nee Ravensdale), aunt Luca Davies, uncle 2 male cousins Pippa was born late in 2007, on Halloween, to parents who already had three children. She hadn’t exactly been a planned baby, but they loved her just as much as the rest of them. Her mother went into labor whilst her father was in the middle of a concert. He wasn’t informed in time and missed his last daughter’s birth, but he wrote a song about it anyway. As an infant, Pippa was loud and happy. She hardly ever cried and usually slept through the night - basically, the Tremlett’s couldn’t have gotten luckier with their last child. The loud, happy and giggly infancy of Pippa rolled into toddler-hood and childhood. She could never be found not smiling or looking for something to get into. Being the youngest, Pippa didn’t spend much time with her two eldest siblings. Usually, she was forced to play with Nicola; the two had never got on well. The two constantly argued – it was the only time Pippa ever had a scowl on her face. She much preferred Kenzie out of her siblings. Pippa grew up in a muggle neighborhood, therefore she had muggle friends and attended a muggle school. It was sometimes difficult to control her magic when she was younger and she didn’t want her friends to make fun of her. Pippa strived to fit in and did whatever she could to do so. Sometimes that involved accepting stupid and dangerous dares, amongst other things. Pippa knew her family could perform magic, but she kind of felt like a freak – especially living in the muggle world. But her father insisted since he was muggle-born – he wanted his children to be comfortable in both worlds. From a young age, Pippa liked to travel with her father. She always liked to be kept busy (partly to keep herself out of trouble or to skip a playdate with her sister) and this gave her a chance to investigate the wizarding world. Slowly, she began to realize that the wizarding was a lot cooler than the muggle world. Each time she walked down Diagon Alley, she looked in awe at the shops and the products in the windows. As was expected, Pippa received her letter to Hogwarts (albeit nearly a year ‘late’ because of her birthday.) She was as excited as could be, especially when Nicola was nice enough to tell her stories and ‘accidentally’ perform some basic spell or other. She went off to Hogwarts without another glance back, telling her friends that she was going to boarding school just like her sister. Pippa settled in nicely at Hogwarts, making friends easily. But when news got around that she, too, was a Tremlett daughter, everyone wanted to befriend her. While Nicola loved the attention and seemed to flourish in it, Pippa backed away from the limelight, growing uncomfortable with all of the attention. She closed off to most people, only preferring to be friends with a few other girls. Flash forward to the summer of her fourth year. Pippa’s muggle friends were making their way down a rough road (figuratively.) It was almost as if they were jealous of Pippa and had suddenly turned on her. Desperate for the friends, Pippa tagged along with them to a free concert in a park. It was music she’d never heard before, but she liked it. During the middle of the concert, Pippa’s friends pulled out a ‘joint’ of weed, they said. They didn’t smoke it, but instead offered it to Pippa – to prove her friendship. Knowing nothing about drugs, Pippa took it and smoked it, wondering what might happen. The next memory Pippa has is of herself in the hospital, feeling awful. Later, she found out that her friends had really given her heroin to smoke. She’d had a violent reaction to the drug and nearly lost her life that. Luckily, Kenzie had been at the same concert and came across her vomiting sister. Since then, Pippa has become closer to Kenzie and her father. He blames himself for what happened, though Pippa reassures him constantly that it’s not his fault. She spent a few weeks in the hospital, as her body went through withdrawal symptoms. To be addicted to a drug after one time of smoking it was something that amazed Pippa. Her family stayed in the muggle neighborhood for a bit before eventually settling down in a small wizarding community. In her fourth year, Pippa became withdrawn. She didn’t want to be the loud girl anymore. She wanted to nearly be invisible. She didn’t trust her closest friends for a time, wondering if they’d pull the same stunt. She sang more, working to develop her voice more. Singing is a release for her. At some point, Pippa began to cut herself. She didn’t do it because she felt emotionally hurt – she sees it as an art form and with often etch designs into her skin. To cover her secret, she uses a cream to get rid of the scars. Her family worried that she became depressed, but she assured them that she wasn’t. Pippa feels awkward now, being the outgoing girl she once had been. She’s afraid it would have been the downfall of her. Jumping ahead a few years, Pippa is recently finished her 6th year. She is looking forward to her 7th year, where she will sit her NEWTs at the end of the year. She's been singing more and building her confidence in front of people. She hopes to become a musician like her father. HANNA 24 -5 GMT |
