 NICKNAME: Rin, Kay, Bass...whatever really, she'll respond to most. AGE/BIRTHDAY: Seventeen / 9th December 2006 BLOOD STATUS: Pureblood SEXUALITY: Heterosexual WAND: Spruce, Acromantula Fibre, ten and a quarter inches. BODY SHAPE: Petite and tiny, she barely reaches five feet four inches. She's got a thin waist, thin arms and a small chest. OVERALL APPEARANCE: Karina appears to be quite tiny and easily lost but she makes up for it with a huge smile and larger than life attitude. She usually lets her spunky personality speak through her clothes, going for a pretty frock one day, a cute t-shirt and ballet flats on another, or leather jacket and combat boots right after. She loves to experiment around with styles, but she's pretty good at cleaning up too. Her favorite accessories are heels which make up for the height, tops which make her look curvy and hair bands and clips. She also loves experimenting with make up, though her everyday friends are lip gloss and eyeliner. But don't be shocked if you see a peculiar shade of purple on her eyes on day or a startling red on her lips another. FAVOURITE CLASS: Potions. LEAST FAVOURITE CLASS: Astronomy. BROOM: None PET: A kitten named Falooda. HOBBIES: She loves dancing, of any style so it's not abnormal for her to go up to the Room of Requirement or her own dorm, blast the music and do a little impromptu routine. She also loves to paint and sketch, so she has tons of sheets and sketchpads and canvases everywhere. Apart from that though, she loves shopping and partying and hanging out with her friends. LIKES:

HISTORY:
Karina Willow Bass was born on a cool winter morning, screaming and shouting and flailing, pretty much symbolic of the rest of her life. Even as a child, she'd have her moods which everyone would cope up with and somebody always had to stay with her to prevent her from running off after a grasshopper or a butterfly in the huge family grounds. She was born into a wealthy household and she didn't hesitate to use to her advantage, scribbling things she saw everywhere, getting her parents to buy what she wanted and inviting over her cousins and friends to play all the time. She was never one to be overtly snobbish about her upbringing (or so she, personally, felt), but she's always been used to a comfortable lifestyle, and makes that known to the people around her. She doesn't show off her wealth on purpose, but with the kind of clothes she wears, and the stuff she can afford, it tends to happen, nonetheless. She also has no qualms about spending the money, used to buzzing around everywhere she went, buying tons of stuff at the same time.
For a long time, her parents wondered if she was ADHD, with the way she was practically always as if on a sugar high. But the doctor didn't think so, and said it would wear off when she grew up and less curious. Her parents, of course, waited, through the many broken artifacts, messed up clothes and broken nails. They're still waiting for it to happen because Karina progressed into her teens with the same spunk and bright outlook she's always had. Despite missing her room and family, she didn't mind moving into Hogwarts with her cousins and brother one bit and quickly adjusted to school work and friends and tons of fun. She saw it as her own freedom coming to her, where she was free to explore without having to worry about what she was going to break this time. She was sure Hogwarts had nothing that expensive to ruin. Besides, she was all excited about using magic.
Her first few years went by in a breeze. She passed her classes with average performances, something that never bothered her very much. She was never the one to fret over grades or getting a degree. Her heart lay in dancing for a living, and she's pretty determined to become a professional dancer - something she doesn't mind studying. She knows there's a good chance her parents won't agree for her to get into such a profession, given her social status, but she doesn't really care. She'll become a high profile dancer, or a model, or an actress. She never really made up her mind: all she wants is no studying and something she can enjoy, become famous and get more money and good clothes with. Attention is what she loves, after all.
Halfway through her fourth year, she was already testing alcohol and dating boys. She was well on her way to find her prince charming because she was pretty sure he was out there and she wasn't patient enough to sit around and wait. She's a virgin though and is waiting for the right person to come along. By the end of fourth year though, it was clear that her partying and adventurous attitude was affecting her grades negatively, so she'd toned it down a bit after getting a scolding at home. Her parents wanted her to do better for her OWLs because they expected her to get good NEWT subjects and then search for a well paid, respectable job. This didn't settle very well with her, because she doesn't want to listen to what they say. She knows her strengths don't lie in academics, so she doesn't want to bother. Unfortunately, even she knows she needs to at least have a full magical education before she goes anywhere, so she pulled it together and scraped by with four OWLs in her fifth year.
Now that she's in her sixth and going into her seventh soon, she's taken Potions, History, COMC and Divination, to appease her parents. They assume she'll end up having a career in one of the former three. But deep down, there's nothing more than she wants than to get into Arts, and the only way to do so is to continue getting average grades. So she continues with focusing more on fun and less on work.
