Cara was the last one left in the Apothecary to clean up, a situation that would have made her a little irritated to say the least. But considering that Leon had promised to come see her once she was off, she was feeling much more chipper than she usually would. She whirled around in the empty shop narrowing her eyes at the remaining packages that she needed to shelve, before pulling her wand out like a duelist.
"You'll rue the day you messed with Cara Finnigan," she told the harmless looking boxes, before muttering the spell that sent them zooming onto the correct shelves. She tried on an evil laugh afterwards, and then stopped abruptly after realizing how bad it sounded.
"Oh, I have been spending way too much time alone," she muttered, closing her eyes in embarrassment. It really was a good thing Leon had volunteered to take her out, or she might have been forced to do something crazy like go to a Muggle club like Kieran and DAvid had done, just to be exposed to other human beings. She sighed at herself again, and then Summoned her purse to herself before perching on top of the counter. The sooner Leon got here, the better as far as she was concerned.

Leon stealthily made his way down the Alley, nearly hunched over in half by the time he'd reached the Apothecary. He was a little late, yes, but that was mostly because he loved surprising his beloved Cara Finnigan and really, what was the best way to do so but with his own ecstatic presence? True, he did promise to come see her in between his busy recording schedule, but he also didn't want to be bogged down by any interested fans who might spot him in the Alley. Hence, the odd timing and his current stature, which really was not doing wonders to his back and didn't really help all that much, considering his hair was still as upright and noticeable as ever.
This clearly escaped Leon, who giggled to himself as he quickly zipped past the windows of the Apothecary to press an ear to the door of the store. He giggled a little more as he listened to Cara berating something inanimate in the store. He really had to work to stifle his laughter when he realized that Cara was talking to some boxes or something that made heavy thuds when spelled to move somewhere. At the point of Cara's evil laughter, Leon was clutching his stomach instead, not needing to cover his mouth anymore as his laughter was so intense that no sound came out. He finally recovered his breath just as he heard Cara muttering to herself, and decided to save his poor beloved friend.
The melodramatic man theatrically threw the door open with a wide grin on his face, arms and legs splayed wide. Combined with his hedgehog-like hair, the effect was startling, brilliant, and, dare he say it, rather dazzling. Like a star. "Here I am!" he said loudly, excitedly grinning at Cara and doing a little jig on the spot, still not pulling down his arms. He headed for his friend like a five-year-old after chocolate, arms open as an invite for a hug. "How have you been? I've not seen you for ages - ages, I say!"

Cara practically rocketed off of the counter when Leon slammed open the door - and not just in excitement. The sudden noise caught her completely off guard and jolted out of her self indulgent line of thought.
"Oh, M-merlin," she murmured, clutching her heart, and then turned towards the source of the sound and saw Leon, "I think you nearly knocked me over with shock," she told him, and then beamed. He may have caught her off guard, but Leon was one of her favourite people in the world after her own siblings, and she was really pleased to see him.
She ducked into his hug and gave him a good squeeze before stepping back. "Ages? Really? I always feel like I've only just seen you - must be your personality," she mused, "It's so big, it feels like you're always nearby. How've you been? I've been really bored," she muttered, rolling her eyes at her surroundings.

Leon rushed forwards in an attempt to catch Cara, as she looked about to fall from the counter where she'd been sitting. Her face held a look of shock and her hands were over her chest, and Leon belatedly realised that his surprise had been a bit too terrifying. "I'm terribly sorry, lovely! Oh my Merlin, I've not given you a heart attack, have I? Say something, lovely Cara, or I'll really have to Floo us to St Mungo's. I'm so terribly sorry, really I am!"
At her reply, he visibly sagged with relief, before engulfing her in his arms. "Oh darling, I'm so sorry, I didn't quite realise how much noise I'd make - you must have thought a wild herd of Hippogriffs were on the rampage! I really am so sorry. I'll buy you a Butterbeer and chocolate lava cake, I swear." His fingers carefully patted Cara's hair, still murmuring promises and apologies before pulling back to get a good look at his friend's face.
"You're looking a bit peaky," he stated after careful examination of her face. "And yes, ages! Maybe you've seen our posters about? I'm not sure if we have one in the Leaky or somewhere in the Alley, although I think we do. We're touring soon to promote our latest album! It's not out yet but it might be next week." Leon waved a casual hand with its fingernails manicured black. "But enough about me. What've you been up to? Besides potions ingredients and dealing with smelly people all day." He jumped backwards onto the counter Cara'd just vacated, legs crossing and elbows resting on his thighs. He laid his chin on his hands and looked at her eagerly, his eyes sparkling in excitement. "Have you met the one?"

Cara sniggered in Leon's frantic embrace before peeking up at him. "Promise?" she murmured trying on the sort of pleading pout that got Pat just about anything he wanted from their Mum. She dropped the expression just as quickly though and grinned up at her friend.
Though she was perfectly all right she appreciated Leon's worrying more than she could say; as much as she adored her own older siblings both were much too brash to go for much coddling, something Leon more than made up for every time she saw him. There was a reason she'd practically adopted him as another sibling after all.
"I am perfectly, perfectly fine," she told him, a trace of a smile still on her lips, "But I am completely holding you to the chocolate lava cake." And she meant it - Cara's immense sweet tooth was actually a real problem, considering offering her sweets was a guaranteed way to involve her in anything - the number of time Brigid and Tommy had gotten her involved in some ridiculous scrape by promising her their share of dessert was pretty much innumerable.
"I do not look peaky!" she told Leon, laughing again, "You aren't allowed to call anyone peaky, you look like a razor blade! And, don't you worry, there are definitely posters of the band up." Her eyes sparkled as she confided in a whisper "Brigid nicked some and we put up a bunch when we went to Fortescue's." She grinned again and added, "Still a bit of Gryffindor in me after all!"
She shook her head at Leon's question, feeling a little shy. "N-nooo," she muttered, trying to ignore the sudden flash of Fran's face in front of her eyes, "At least I don't think so?" She rolled her eyes at her own silly line of thought. "No, I haven't." she said, trying to sound firm, and then leaned her elbows on the counter next to Leon. "How about you?" she asked, brightening at the thought that whatever Leon said, it was sure to be a wonderful story.
