hello friends i’m hope and these are my characters - every one of them happens to be a complete and utter dumb so i’d advise you to tread carefully and not expect reasonable actions from any of them tbh TAKE MY WORD FOR IT THEY ARE ALL IDIOTS I PROMISE BUT I WOULD ADORE PLOTS FOR THEM NONETHELESS oh and apparently i’m making multiple other characters in the near future so i’ll just add them as i go along
BENJAMIN JACOB POWELL

ben powell prides himself on his sarcasm and resourcefulness, having been a perfect fit for slytherin when he was sorted. most of his peers probably find his snark mildly discomforting as he makes very little effort to hide what he really thinks of people and can be immensely judgmental, but despite this, it's very clear that he adores his twin sister claire to no end, and anyone on her bad side should probably take care not to speak to him ever. growing up, he and claire were mostly each other's only company, so even though they were sorted into different houses upon reaching hogwarts, the two of them still spend a ridiculous amount of time together, always in each other's common rooms (she's a ravenclaw, so i imagine he knows her ravenclaw friends probably more than they would appreciate) and their social groups constantly intermingling. he's smart enough though he doesn't try very hard in school a lot because he’s consistently lazy and unmotivated on that front, and he enjoys hanging out with the few people he can tolerate more than doing schoolwork unlike his ridiculously ravenclaw twin (his words, not hers). he gets along fairly well with his female classmates, particularly claire's friends, as a result of growing up with a twin sister, and he's also got an older half-brother as a teacher at hogwarts whom he adores, though he doesn't exactly advertise this fact to anyone, aside from claire, obviously, as she knows pretty much everything there is to know about him.

ainsley rickett is not the kind of girl one would have pegged for a gryffindor at first glance - she's a hard-working sweetheart, smart and loyal and extremely ambitious, as well as pretty cunning when she wants to be, so logistically, she could have placed in any of the other three houses, and had actually been expecting either ravenclaw or slytherin. however, the hat believed that gryffindor would suit her best in the end, and she's found herself fitting in well over the years despite being doubtful at the start about her sorting, finding a group of friends from across all three houses that she feels comfortable around and, in true gryffindor fashion, is willing to walk through fire for. she comes from a troubled home, with a dead mother and father she hates along with two younger sisters she feels the need to protect and mother, but she doesn't share this information with anyone except her closest friends, those she feels she can trust absolutely. in her past five years at hogwarts, she hasn't done anything too outrageous, not being much of a partier as she doesn't like alcohol and not getting tangled up with any boy drama and never even having her first kiss until this past summer, though things are starting to change now with her about to head into sixth year.
CALEB NATHANIEL BLACKWOOD

caleb blackwood often seems to be made entirely of sunshine, from his easy-going personality to his bright smile and the fact that he can make friends with just about anyone, regardless of house or age. although he has a fair number of friends because he's so easily likable, his best friend is not the kind of person one would expect to see in his company - julian delaire, a slytherin in his year who seems like he should barely tolerate caleb's presence at all. and yet the two of them are thicker than thieves, and caleb is the kind of person who would go to the world's end for his best friends, constantly willing to listen and sometimes yell if need be, and always offering a helping hand to those that need it. he can be a little clueless sometimes, especially when it comes to people flirting with him depending on the situation (despite the fact that he can be rather flirtatious himself), but most of the time he's not as dumb as one might immediately think he is, being a bit more emotionally intelligent than most of the boys in his age group. he's a hufflepuff through and through, loyal and hard-working with a strong sense of justice, and overall, he's a fun guy to be around because he has the habit of brightening anyone’s day just with his smile.
DEVYN EVA OBERLIN

devyn oberlin does not care about a lot of things, but the things she does care about, she cares about almost too much, being an absolute perfectionist and striving to be the best at everything she does. as a result of this, she’s extremely competitive, though her cold and sarcastic nature more than her competitive one is the reason most people are put off by her, and she hasn’t tried to bother with any of her classmates or housemates over her years at hogwarts because she finds them infuriating and unworthy of her attention. she only has a few good friends, not even getting along that well with her twin sister, danni, though a lot of their damaged relationship is due to both sisters irrationally believing that the other is superior. she does really care about her few friends and her sister underneath it all, though, and no matter if she’s annoyed with them at any given time, will probably be on the offensive if she hears anyone bad-mouthing them. she tends to turn on her charm only when there’s something in it for her, namely when attractive boys are involved, so she can be an entirely different person than what her peers are used to if she’s serious about flirting with someone. at the same time, she doesn’t tend to be easily impressed, so anyone who wants her attention for whatever reason will have to work to hold it.

varun sharma is a fun-loving recently-graduated gryffindor who likes to relax and party and live in the moment as opposed to worrying about the future. his philosophy is to act now and worry about the consequences later, that is, if he worries about them at all. he's got a younger sister, priyanka, who is the most important person in his life alongside his mother, and the rest of the world comes second to them, though he loves his friends dearly as well. he's working as a bartender right now, having always had a lot of pressure on his shoulders throughout his school years from his father and deciding to forgo living up to high expectations in favor of his enjoying his youth. he's a good friend, able to make people feel comfortable despite any differences, and he's got a true gryffindor heart of gold, so no matter how much he makes fun of his friends, he'd do anything for them if it came to that. he liked playing pranks and not taking much seriously during his time at school, but now that he's out in the real world, he may have to settle down sooner or later - probably not sooner, though.
